lisburn civic offices

The project Rotunda was devised for the inaugural celebrations of Lisburn Borough Councils new civic building.

The top 6 images were installed as screen backgrounds for the week of the 11th of June 2001 on the computers of the staff of Lisburn Borough Council. Each morning as an employee logged on they were greeted with a different image of the Rotunda of the Civic Offices in construction. The bottom 4 images show images on staffs computer screens.

This piece was part of a series of site specific artworks commissioned by the Island Arts Centre as part of the opening celebrations for Lisburn Borough Councils and the Island Arts Centres new premises.

The work aims to engage with the infrastructure of the Council by using images of the Rotundas' construction as part of the fabric of staff computers for one week.
