The Waterworks was Belfast's former reservoir and is now is a public park North
Belfast containing two ponds, one large and one small. There is an unwritten
rule about territory in the park. The very top end above the big pond is close
to The Westlands a loyalist estate, the very bottom end, near the small pond
faces onto the Antrim Rd, a mainly 'catholic' area for want of a better word.
The large pond donates a buffer zone and at night residents from each respective
area do not stray into the others 'territory'.

The Waterworks is one of a series of models,
all based on existing structures in Belfast serve
to donate collectively how infrastructure and the
built environment serve to delineate and even dictate
a cities political dynamic on a local scale.
